Concept & Vision: Arnau Family / Monegros Creative Team, a modern, open‑air arena built as a blank canvas to host strong external brands and labels each year.
Stage Identity:
2023: Open Air x Drumcode - hosting Adam Beyer’s label in the desert.
2024: Open Air x Blackworks - full hard‑techno takeover by the Madrid‑based promoter and label.
Capacity: Described as a “small chapel” with capacity for barely 12,000 people, one of the most in‑demand spaces of the festival and the place chosen to officially open each edition.
Architecture & Comfort: 360º shade structure with no pillars in the central area to protect from the 14:00 desert sun at opening time while keeping the open‑air feeling.
2024 Music Direction (Blackworks): Extreme hard techno and industrial sounds with artists such as Charlie Sparks, Cloudy, I Hate Models, Reinier Zonneveld, Sara Landry, plus a closing b2b of Nico Moreno b2b Dyen

Open Air Modern Stage is our way of giving certain sounds their own arena in the desert: a 12,000‑cap open‑air “chapel” that evolves each year.
Project Description
When we designed what we call the Open Air Modern Stage we wanted a dedicated arena for the movements that are reshaping techno right now. That’s why we treat it almost like a guest‑hosted temple, in 2023 it welcomed Drumcode and in 2024 we handed it over to Blackworks, the Spanish hard‑techno phenomenon that is filling hangars and clubs all over Europe. Architecturally, we think of it as a “modern chapel”:
Capacity for around 12,000 people, built as a wide open‑air bowl with a crucial detail.
A 360‑degree shade canopy with no pillars in the centre, so that at 14:00, when Andrés Campo kicks off the festival with a special vinyl set, people can survive the combo of heat and dust without losing the feeling of dancing under the sky.
Business‑wise, this stage is one of our smartest tools.
By dedicating a whole arena to a partner like Blackworks, we can justify a serious investment in sound, lighting and shade structure while also tapping directly into their community, which arrives already tuned to exactly the kind of extreme, high‑BPM hard techno that puts our new sound systems to the test.
For 2024 that meant handing them a platform where names like Charlie Sparks, Cloudy, I Hate Models, Reinier Zonneveld or Sara Landry could push the system to its limits all day and night, culminating in a brutal Nico Moreno b2b Dyen closing that felt less like a set and more like a stress‑test for everyone’s legs and hearts.
